Our Story

Mai Dubai as a company was established in December 2012, but construction only started in June 2013 and the facility was completed in a matter of 11 months. After the successful commissioning of our machines, our sales team went to market in March 2014. We realised early on that the brand represents Dubai, a global brand which stands for high quality, high standards and a grand consumer experience, so there is no compromise when it came to our effort and investment towards building a best-in-class company. In terms of our name, we needed something different so Mai is the spoken way of saying water in Arabic and In English when someone hears Mai Dubai they think “my Dubai” so it becomes very easy to remember either way.

As an entity, we are registered as an LLC and we’re fully-owned by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority which is another important reason in ensuring the highest standards of quality locally and globally.

After over four years since the launch of Mai Dubai, it has become one of the leading bottled drinking water companies in the UAE, and certainly a highly popular brand. Today Mai Dubai is a household name not only in the UAE but in several markets around the world.

We’ve been on an incredible and very challenging journey, which has lead us to export to over 1 dozen countries around the world, to attain world-class awards, certifications and accolades but that’s only the beginning. To date, Mai Dubai has exported its products to several countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and the GCC and since 2015 we’ve been the proud water refreshment partner of Emirates Airlines.

2012

Mai Dubai was born.

2013

Finding the perfect location: Construction of production facilities commence.

Iconic 1.5 liter bottle design approved

2014

Mai Dubai has finally opened its doors to the public. Commercial Production began in the early month of March.

2015

In February, Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Minister of Finance was cordially invited to inaugurate the industrial facility of Mai Dubai in Al Qudra.

Not only was the company awarded by the Dubai Municipality, they were given the highest grade in food safety (GradeA).

A second award from the Dubai Municipality presented itself to Mai Dubai for the Best Factory.

  • Mai Dubai kicked off its new year with an article from Gulf News which stated that, Mai Dubai was and now is the preferred bottled water across all Emirates Airlines.
  • Soon after; Mai Dubai was recognized for its outstanding contribution to the Beverage Industry in the Middle East. They received the “Best Marketing Impact” award.
  • On May 27th, a tour of the Plant was conducted with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, accompanied by the Chairman of Mai Dubai His Excellency Saeed M. Al Tayer and the CEO of Mai Dubai, Jay Andres.
  • During the summer of July, 2016, Mai Dubai was awarded with a Bronze Award in its water category by the US Magazine Beverage World.
  • Nominated for the Best Factory award by Dubai Municipality in 2015 and in the same year it won the Grade A rating in food safety. The following years Mai Dubai achieved a rating of Grade A+ followed by A++ also by recognition by the Dubai municipality.
